Don't Leave Your Bra on the Floor

For those of you who don't know we have a new dog. His name is Billy and he is incredibly cute and very very playful (see picture). He loves to go into my messy room and find socks to chew on them. I think in the past week I have found 6 socks out side of my room.

So this past Christmas, Nate came over around noon. We were in the sun-room exchanging gifts. He got me this beautiful cross necklace with a diamond right in the middle of it. Very Nice. And he also donated sheets and towels to orphans in Nica through OrphaNetwork - which is one of the coolest gifts ever! So we were sitting there talking, and in walks Billy. He comes right over to Nate and practically drops one of my bras in his lap. I guess he decided to move on to bigger things then socks...... Oh Billy. How embarrassing. Needless to say, I am not leaving anymore bras on the floor of my room.

Being home is interesting. I realized that when I home, all my bad habits tend to come out. It is bad. That is another reason I can't wait to be back in the bburg. But tomorrow I leave for Radiate 08 In DC!! I've never been but I am very very excited! Its going to be an amazing retreat! YAY!

Blacksburg, I miss thee

I really miss Blacksburg.

As I was driving on 202 and going to the Y, I realized how much of a jem Blacksburg truly is. In Blacksburg there is really no traffic, the gym is almost never packed, people say hi and are nice drivers (usually), and everything you need is within 5 miles.

Another thing is community. I miss Tech and my friends. Friends here (at home) have changed, are busy, and seem to have no interests. My how lives change only have 3 years. Only the only thing that i enjoyed today was going to Brew Ha Ha, having a cup of their house coffee and reading and journalling. It almost reminded me of Mill Mountain, almost.

There are perks to being home:
  1. Sleeping
  2. No Work
  3. Free food
  4. Family
  5. Nate
  6. Billy
  7. Cable
But that is about it. I love and hate the free time. I am praying that I will be able to find the good and find the relaxation wonderful. Today was hard, but tomorrow is looking better.

Sunday, December 14, 2008

Well it is almost the end of the semester. Lets just say that I am more than excited. Its odd, maybe for the first time since I have been at VT, I am looking forward to going home. I have no idea why. Maybe this semester has been academically been very very hard. On top of that, I covercomitted myself and have been running on E for a while now. So I am ready to go home and Play with Billy- my super cute dog- and Nate - my super cute boyfriend.

Anyway, Its going to be awesome.

So this week, I have been re-thinking my life. I have I no idea what I am going to do this summer. All I do know is that I will be here in Blacksburg. Taking classes? working? an internship? - I have no idea. God is in control, and it is just one summer. But I want it to count for something. I don't know.

So, I have 3 more exams and then FREEDOM! YAY! Then its back to next semester - which looks like it might be joke semester. Whatever....

Kiss of Deaf

Ok... so everyone needs to read this:
Chinese couple share a kiss
Couples are advised to "proceed with caution"

A young Chinese woman was left partially deaf following a passionate kiss from her boyfriend.

The 20-something from Zhuhai in Guangdong province arrived at hospital having completely lost the hearing in her left ear, said local reports.

The incident prompted a series of articles in the local media warning of the dangers of excessive kissing.

"While kissing is normally very safe, doctors advise people to proceed with caution," wrote the China Daily.

The doctor who treated the girl in hospital was quoted in the paper explaining what had happened.

"The kiss reduced the pressure in the mouth, pulled the eardrum out and caused the breakdown of the ear."

The chorus of warnings was echoed by the Shanghai Daily, which wrote: "A strong kiss may cause an imbalance in the air pressure between two inner ears and lead to a broken ear drum."

The young woman is expected to regain her full hearing within about two months.

Lesson: PROCEED WITH CAUTION when kissing. hahaha

I love Mill Mountain

I am currently sitting in Mill Mountain, I have been here for just over 2 hours and realize that i am in love.

I love the people of Blackburg.
I love the music that plays in Mill. Mt.
I love Jesus, and how he changes hearts.
I love exam week knowing this semester is coming close to an end.
I love Christmas time and what it truly means.
And I love the community here, its so amazing that i can go to a coffee shop on a Sunday after noon and see 4 people I know. That makes me happy.

Suggested reading: Sacrifice by Howard Gunniess. Amazing book if you are ready to be challenged on what it means to live a truly godly life. And its only 84 pages!
